The year that was Team New Hampshire.
So with 1 year behind us, I have no idea where to start. We have been all over the place. Starting in New Hampshire, our beautiful home, boxing is done mostly here. The White Mountains to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, hosted a clean-up at White Sands in Pembroke, boxed while at Employee Appreciation in New Castle. New Hampshire is growing, and with the love of letterboxing, we can all make this state so much more beautiful.
Now that doesn’t mean all the other state should be left out. We did box in Maine a little. My mother lives in Biddeford right now and we have scaled the coast for a few boxes from time to time. We have relatives that live in Connecticut and have headed that direction too! Figured, New Hampshire neighbors Vermont too! Couldn’t forget about them. Hmm, who am I forgetting. Oh, Massachusetts. Ya, for some reason, we didn’t box there for quite some time. We neighbor Massachusetts and I have traveled through there on many occasions to box in Connecticut and never once thought about boxing there. But we went to the Ice Scream Sunday Gather and were on our way.
Desperately Seeking Sun Gather was our first gather. Bringing us all the way to Fabius, New York for some fun, cold weather, and a bit of boxing too! Don’t think I was going to go there and do no boxing. We met lots of people there. I don’t care what people say about those from New York, as long as your not talking about the Yankees, your good in my book. New York ultimately took me to Rhode Island. A somewhat crazy idea to head there after the gather for a weekend full of boxing fun. It wasn’t as cold as New York, but yes, it was fun.
This past March, for the first time we flew. My brother lives in Shreveport, Louisiana and we headed down for a week. While down there, we saw the awesome beauty of the south. How different it was, and warmer too! It was in the teens when we left home. Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, all wonderful. Didn’t run into anyone, but we had such a wonderful time.
Then there is what came recently. The Alien Invasion of Pennsylvania. This was the first time we had been to Pennsylvania to box, and wow. The people there are so nice. The invasion was a success and we were welcome with open arms. Even if we were a threat for take over. No we weren’t. But since we had so much fun, it sounds real good that we will be back again next year.
With a wedding coming, we will be heading of to England and a visit to Dartmoor. What the rest of the year holds, only time will tell. Until then, we would like to take this time to thank everyone who has ever been nice to us and been there for us when things got down. It has not always been easy, but we manage to get though it. With such a wonderful group of people, we plan on being around for years to come. Long live letterboxing.
