----------Team New Hampshire's Letterboxing Tales----------

Team New Hampshire is a team of 5. First there is my beautiful partner in crime, Sarah. Next are her 2 sons, Billy and Elijah. Then there is our son, Levi. And finally there is me, David. We live in the most wondefullest state in the country, New Hampshire. The "Live Free or Die" state. We started letterboxing in August of 2005 and we love every minute of it.

Letterboxing for Idiots - Hitchhikers

Ok, so you want to know what a Hitchhiker (HH) is? Well, I'm going to tell you that I'm not going to win any awards for my editorial on letterboxing for idiots, but i'm going to make this as easy to remember as possible. Brace yourself, because here it comes.
Basicly, a HH is a smaller, more portable letterbox with not home at all. It can be found in any size container and come in different shapes and sizes. There are no clues on where you can find one, but if you listen to the talk sites, someone may slip once and awhile and reviel a location of one. That is a BIG NO NO! HH's are ment to be a surprise. An extra gift if you will.
The fun begins when you find a HH. What do i do with it? Well you have 2 options. Take it with you or leave it for someone else. Either way, you should log it into your logbook. If you decide to take it with you, first you need to recognize when your going boxing again. You don't want to hold on to it too long. If your going boxing in a week, feel free to take it and log it in at home. Now when you decide which box your going to replant the HH, you need to do as follows. You need to stamp the placement box, into the HH log book as you did with your own stamp. Then stamp the HH into the replacement boxes logbook. At this point, the HH is no longer yours and will be picked up by the next boxer.
HH sometimes has long travels. Sometimes they don't. Just remember, that when you pick up a HH, place it somewhere that might send it off somewhere far away. Somewhere It may have never been. Someplace the owner never thought imaginal. Oh and let him know where it been by contacting him/her directly. If possible.
Have fun.
