----------Team New Hampshire's Letterboxing Tales----------

Team New Hampshire is a team of 5. First there is my beautiful partner in crime, Sarah. Next are her 2 sons, Billy and Elijah. Then there is our son, Levi. And finally there is me, David. We live in the most wondefullest state in the country, New Hampshire. The "Live Free or Die" state. We started letterboxing in August of 2005 and we love every minute of it.

Our Seasonal Friend

What did you do before the Super Bowl? Let me entertain you with what we did before the big game. Since we had no idea where to go sledding without running into the plenty that want to as well, we decided to go out and make a snowman in the corn field across the street. Now for anyone that lives in the New Hampshire area, we all know that this snow isn't the greatest for making snow. The snowman started off pretty rough, but I had come up with an idea. I remebered about my beach days and how we went about building a sand castle. With a bucket. Well, I ran to look for a bucket of some sort, and the only thing i could find was an empty kitty litter pail. Works for me. So we were now cooking. We made the base of the snowman and the kids were thinking we were almost done. We started on the body of the snowman, and again the kids thought we were almost done. Build the body twice as big as the kids thought, and they wondered about the head of the snowman. "How are we going to make the head?" they would ask.
I proceeded to build the head and they were amazed by how tall the snowman now was. The snowman now was taller than both the boys. Elijah couldn't keep his mouth shut about how much he liked the snowman and how he had never built a snowman this big before. Now it was time to put on some eyes, a nose, mouth, buttons and arms. Seeing we were a the corn field, corn stalk stubbs were plentiful. so we found everything but the eyes. Rocks! Oh wait a minute, all the rocks are under the snow. We searched and searched and finally found a couple rocks behind the house under the deck. The snowman was now complete. Our Seasonal friend has come to life. Now for those who are interested, I have also planted a box at the edge of the field for our seasonal friend. You are more than welcome to come and visit him and grab a stamp at the same time. Just be aware, this box will only last for as long as our seasonal friend does.
